Jane Chismon -Napoli- Italia

What’s up in the state of Denmark?

April 23rd – 27th  2012

Take two handfuls of Danes, 1 handful of Germans, a sprinkling of Italians and a hint of Turks and what have you got?

MONDAY

A very warm welcome to some very tired travellers. (A big thank you to the host families and Lisbeth).

TUESDAY

An aweswome, amazing, astonishing school building which is the Rodkilde Gymnasium in Vejle Denmark

A  walk to Vejle Bridge and group work for students

A lunch break at 11a.m.?

A  coach trip to visit the Old Little Belt Bridge and the New Little Belt Bridge majestic, impressive and never-ending beneath the April rain.

WEDNESDAY

An Italian lesson for Danish students

A 30 kilometre bike ride for the fit  (and the not so fit) which took in the old Viking  Ravning Bridge established by Harald Bluetooth. Italy you were our epic heroes and heroines -  Beowulf would have been proud of you!

A visit to Jelling to delve deep into the past, into days long gone by – when Vikings conquered our world. This burial site of King Gorm the Old and the Rune Stones captured our imaginations, on such a beautiful sunny Danish day.

And the same evening ? Yes, believe it or not a Danish pizza party. Pure Viking courage. And the score so far?  Denmark 1 – Italy 0. But look out Denmark because   in October Italy will be playing at home! ( Thanks to Sannie and her husband.)

THURSDAY

A series of bridges made of paper, pasta, cardboard and marshmallows – the majority of which refused to buckle under a kilo of weights -  the culmination of a week’s work  (and months of preparation).

And last but not least a big thank you to our Danish hosts for their hospitality

Meeting in Germany October 2011

A meeting was held for the PARTENARIATI MULTILATERALI COMENIUS at the Padagogischer Austauschdienst der KMK (PAD) di SCHLESWIG - GERMANY from 25th - 29th October 2011. Teachers from the four partners ( Germany, Denmark, Turkey, Italy ) discussed the project approved by the National Socrates Agency - " BUILDING BRIDGES OVER TROUBLED WATER ".
On this occasion the representatives of the four schools, led by their respective coordinators, discussed the organization of the project's biennial calendar for the years 2011/2013 ( activities, mobilization, etc.)
The discussions provided an excellent linguistic and cultural opportunity for the teachers from the various countries to exchange commonly held ideas and opinions.
The intense programme, (organised by Mr Rainer Klauke the coordinator of the host school ), in line with " work in progress", also included a visit of the school and visits to places of local interest.
The meeting was an opportunity to gain invaluable human and professional experience which will have positive effects both on our individual work and on our respective schools.
